Job Title:Quality & Health & Safety Engineer / Coordinator
Reporting To:European Operations Manager
Location:Dundee, Scotland

Job Overview

 Responsibilities
  • Through the critical evaluation of current procedures and the formalisation of improvement programs, ensure that the site meets both legislative and customer requirements.
  • Help to ensure that the site continues to produce the highest quality product range, by audit of product and processes, which will involve identifying areas for continuous improvement and cost reduction.
  • Provide practical Health, Safety & Environmental guidance to the business, in addition to delivering appropriate training packages for all levels of employee.
  • Lead risk assessments, root cause analysis and the identification of preventative and corrective actions to improve all areas of the business. Provide support for internal, external and customer audits. 
  • Ensure that new employee inductions are being carried out correctly and provide regular retraining of existing employees.
  • Review Risk Assessment management strategies and make recommendations on the implementation of these strategies.
  • Review and assist in development of Health and Safety Policies, Procedures and guidance, in keeping with best practice and make recommendations on their implementation and application.
  • Advise management on the health and safety competence of prospective and current contractors. To monitor and record the competence of all contractors used.
  • Generation of risk assessments for plant, products and processes.

Requirements:
  • Degree level, ideally with formal health and safety qualifications, candidates will have gained wide ranging quality, environmental, health & safety experience in a volume manufacturing environment.
  • The candidate will be conversant with management systems ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO18001 in addition to problem solving tools and techniques.
  • The candidate will also possess leadership ability with the drive and determination to influence colleagues and customers at all levels.
