Case study: portable searchlight

The Swiss company Swiss + Licht AG develops mobile searchlights for applications that place the highest demands on light intensity, mobility and simple handling. The functional solution combined with the extremely high quality technical components make the swisslicht SL1 from Swiss + Licht AG one of the most powerful portable searchlights currently available on the market. The device is a reliable helper, provides rapid and secure illumination under extreme conditions and is specially designed for use in situations where immediate top lighting performance is essential, without the use of fixed lighting, mobile generators or mains current.

The mobile searchlight swisslicht SL1 is optimised for one thing: plenty of light!

It can be operated with one hand like a large torch and is not only suitable for searching over great distances but also for the rapid and bright illumination of mobile deployment locations or workplaces. Two switching levels enable the choice between more light and a longer lighting time. The swisslicht SL1 has a very robust design and the construction and surface of the housing enable a very varied utilisation under the most difficult conditions. The light is waterproof and dust-resistant in accordance with IP67 and is impervious to blows, impact and temperature shock. A HID burner – without incandescent filament and extremely stable with regard to any possible mechanical influences – serves as light source. The front lamp lens of borosilicate glass is blow-resistant and impact and scratch resistant and also remains undamaged when immersed in water. The light emitted by the swisslicht SL1 is similar to daylight, with a colour temperature of 4,100 Kelvin, so that colours are not falsified in the darkness. The searchlight beam can be focused for spotlight or floodlight – so that depending on the requirement a precise illumination can be provided over a great distance or a wide area. The light is capable of a hot start and can be switched on and off at short notice.

The swisslicht SL1 is powered by an Axeon lithium-ion rechargeable battery pack:
