Key Objectives:
- Project Management
- Auonomously manage customer projects from concept to production and beyond, ensureing the scope, price, timing and quality criteria are met from the Customer's perspective, whilst ensuring the costs and investments made by Axeon are within budget
- Report on a regular and formal basis regarding the above criteria
- Applications Engineering
- Liaise closely with the customers in house engineering teams, in order to understand and formally define their requirements
- Prepare formal specifications for product and project
- Ensure that the product cost estimates, including investments if any, are sufficiently accurate, and are ammended and updated as necessary and promptly communicated to the company
- Work in close cooperation with the Core team to ensure that they are fully informed of requirements, timing, cost and quality targets, and of any changes or developments within the scope of the project
- Carry out design work at a concept and overview level
- Carry out engineering calculations as necessary
- Prepare and present information for, and to the customer and the company
- Customer Purchase and Operational Support
- Provide Customer and Supplier Support activites and provide timely support and detailed communication to Manufacturing and Operations within Axeon
- Key Performance Indicators
- Delivery of programs, on time, to specification and within budget
- "Right First Time" design work including completeness, accuracy and timliness
- Compliance with requirements of ISO 9001 and other company procedures
- Essential Skills
- Program Management skills & experience. Formal training an advantage
- Working understanding of battery systems, cell types, their advantages & constraints
- Customer liaison, presentaion skills, commercial awareness
- Development of technical specifications
- CAD capability, preparation of concept models and drawings
- New Product Development in an ISO 9001 Environment
- Knowledge & understanding of appropriate electrical safety regulations
- Design for Manufacture/Assembly
- FMEA & DVP
- Understanding of Health & Safety, Environmental requirements
- Desirable Skills
- Experience Autodesk Inventor, Altium, or Pro/ENGINEER user
- Understanding of electrical components, and their function
- Understanding of mechanical assembly, processes and design
- Commerical experience, Cost estimation
- Relevant experience of at least 3 yeards in a customer-facing New Product Develoment role.
- Educational Qualification
- Appropriate command of English & local language, Polish an advantage.
- Degree-level qualification in Mechanical, Electronic or Electrical Engineering
The position will require frequent business travel, to customer's premises and to the Axeon plant in Gliwice, Poland. Further travel may be required from time to time, mainly within the EU.
